So before winter sets in, now is a good time to fit extra fitness activities into your weekly routine.  If you are looking to make a significant change it is vital to start at your own fitness level and build up gradually.  The same applies if you’re not use to any exercise.   Whatever you do, always “listen” to your body and monitor how it feels.  It sounds a cliché, but it is very true and important in helping to avoid injury.  Aches and discomforts are one thing, but pain should not be ignored as it may be an indication that you have increased your activities too quickly and not allowed your body to strengthen and adapt.  If you are new to exercise, it is always worth checking with your doctor that your blood pressure is healthy before starting.

Contact me for advise if you are still unsure how or where to start and follow my Facebook page, to receive weekly tips on fitness and nutrition.

So however you spend the next few weeks and beyond keep active and embrace a healthy lifestyle – inspired by Team GB and the Paralympics Team GB 2012 !
